These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between Your Local Mechanic and the subscriber to the Car Service Subscription Plan.

1. Overview

The Car Service Subscription Plan ("the Plan") is a rolling monthly service agreement that provides customers with ongoing vehicle care, including scheduled servicing, safety checks, and exclusive member benefits, in return for a fixed monthly fee of £20 paid by credit or debit card.

2. What's Included

Your subscription entitles you to:

  • One annual full vehicle service (labour only, parts charged separately unless otherwise stated).
  • Priority booking for breakdowns and repairs.
  • 10% discount on all additional parts and labour.
  • Free collection and return within 5 miles of your postcode.
  • Free health check every 12 months.
  • Membership hotline for booking and advice.

Full details of inclusions and exclusions are published on our website and may be updated from time to time.

3. What's Not Included

The Plan does not cover:

  • Replacement parts, fluids, or consumables (unless specifically included in a promotion).
  • Repairs required due to accident damage, misuse, or neglect.
  • MOT test fees, emissions testing, or retesting.
  • Any work carried out by other garages or third parties.
  • Recovery or roadside assistance outside the free collection radius.

4. Payment Terms

The monthly fee of £20 is collected automatically each month by credit or debit card via our secure payment processor.

Payments are taken on or around the same day each month as your initial sign-up date.

If a payment fails, we'll attempt to collect it again within seven (7) days. If payment is not received after two attempts, your subscription may be suspended or cancelled.

You must ensure your payment details are up to date.

5. Minimum Term and Cancellation

There is no minimum contract period — you can cancel anytime with at least 7 days' notice before your next billing date.

If you have already received your annual service under the Plan, your subscription must remain active for 12 months from that date or the standard service fee may be applied retrospectively.

Refunds are not provided for partial months.

6. Booking and Service Delivery

  • Services must be booked in advance via our website or customer line.
  • We will confirm availability and booking date in writing (email or SMS).
  • Collection and return services depend on your location and may be subject to availability.
  • You agree to ensure safe access to your vehicle at the arranged time.

7. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Keep your vehicle insured, taxed, and roadworthy.
  • Notify us of any mechanical issues or safety concerns before we perform work.
  • Provide accurate details about your vehicle.
  • Authorise necessary work prior to commencement.

8. Our Responsibilities

We will:

  • Perform all work with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards.
  • Use quality parts that meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Honour all agreed pricing and discounts under your active subscription.
  • Provide clear communication before, during, and after any service.

9. Limitation of Liability

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, supply chain delays, or third-party failures.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under consumer law.

10. Changes to the Plan

We may update or improve the Plan benefits, pricing, or terms.

You will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any material change.

Continuing your subscription after receiving notice of changes will constitute acceptance.

11. Data Protection

We process your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your data will only be used for managing your account, processing payments, and providing services.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
